Attorney Stephen M. Osborne
Stephen M. Osborne is an Associate Attorney at Murphy & Dunn, P.C. He has over twenty-five years of experience practicing law and is also a Certified Public Accountant. He is an experienced trial and transactional attorney with wide-ranging experience in family law and other areas of civil and commercial litigation. He has handled family law cases involving dissolution of marriage, legal separation, custody and visitation, property division, maintenance, child support, college expenses, removal and relocation, multi-state jurisdictional issues and guardianships.
Mr. Osborne is a native of Central Illinois who has practiced law in both the trial and appellate courts throughout the State of Illinois. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and the United States District Courts for the Central District of Illinois and the Southern District of Illinois. Mr. Osborne graduated from the Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1986. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. He studied accounting at the University of Illinois-Springfield and became a C.P.A. while practicing law in Springfield. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association.
Mr. Osborne has wide ranging experience in litigation in family and other areas of the law. Earlier in his career, Mr. Osborne was part of a team that generated multi-million-dollar jury verdicts and settlements in central Illinois. In addition to family law, he has extensive experience including with, among others, transactions, commercial and business litigation, personal injury, civil rights and estate related litigation. Mr. Osborne works on the legal team lead by Associate Attorney Kevin E. Markes, and including Paralegals Carrie Nowatney and Samantha Melvin. Together their team handles all cases and all aspects of divorce, custody and family law related matters for the firm.
